California Hotel Bed Bug Settlement

$40,000.00 Bed Bug Settlement for a Family of 3 at a California Hotel

The attorneys at www.Bedbuglaw.com have obtained a Bed Bug Settlement for a family of three at a California Hotel.  A mother, grandmother and granddaughter were attacked by bed bugs while on vacation at a Comfort Inn & Suites in California.  The family checked into the hotel room and noticed a small bug on the bathroom floor which scurried away before they could catch it.  Having never seen a bedCalifornia Hotel Bed Bug Settlement bug in person before, they ignored it and went about their evening.  During the first night of rest at the hotel, the family woke up feeling itchy and pain throughout their bodies.  Upon inspection of the child’s bed, the mother saw several live bugs and blood stains on the sheets.  Horrified, the family continued to inspect the rest of the room.  More live bugs were found in the beds and on both headboards.

The family captured live bugs and presented them to hotel management.  Management would not confirm or deny that the bugs were bed bugs, and offered to switch the family’s room.  At 4 o’clock in the morning, the last thing the family was thinking about was a bed bug settlement, they just wanted to get to safety.

After the Attack

The bed bug bites caused tremendous pain and anxiety for the family of three.  The young daughter had been bitten over 300 times.  The mother had been bitten over 100, and thankfully the grandmother was only bitten about 12 times.  Before checking out of the California hotel, the family searched online for what to do after being attacked by bed bugs in a hotel.  Www.BedBugLaw.com came up in their Google search so they contacted our office to find out what to do.  After a brief consultation, the family took several photographs of the hotel bed bug infestation as well as take photographs of their injuries.

Names and descriptions of hotel employees were recorded and a copy of the hotel folio receipt was obtained as proof of stay at the hotel.  After checking out of the hotel in the morning, the family contacted the Department of Health to make a complaint about the California hotel bed bug infestation.  When the Health Department arrived at the hotel the next day, a deeply entrenched infestation was discovered.California Hotel Bed Bug Settlement

The Family Required Medical Treatment

The bed bug bites were so severe that they required an emergency room visit as well as several follow up appointments with the primary doctor.  The young daughter fought for months to be able to get a good night’s sleep without the fear of being attacked in the night by bed bugs.  The experience at this California hotel left a deep impact on the family.

  2. Kristi, you shouldn’t be afraid of your supervisor in this situation. If you are forced to work in an unsafe environment, you have rights which could help you. I believe that an employment attorney would be best to help your current situation.
