Bed Bug Bites? We Can Help!

That Airbnb could be full of bedbugs

When people don’t want to stay in hotels, they will sometimes rent Airbnbs. This can give them a more secluded place to stay. Someone may not want to be in a hotel downtown, for instance, but will rent a smaller house outside of the city for their family. People often see this as a more relaxing alternative.

But it could be anything but relaxing if the Airbnb is full of bed bugs. If you’ve booked one of these locations, simply spending a single night there could be highly detrimental to the health of both you and your family.

Wouldn’t someone report the bed bugs?

There are many signs of bed bugs that you may notice if you’ve experienced an infestation. For example, there could be a line of red bites that only appear at bedtime, so you can easily conclude that bed bugs are the culprits, even if you don’t see the bugs themselves.

Certainly, the first thing someone should do if they notice bed bugs in an Airbnb is to communicate with the host, tell them about the problem and begin looking into solutions.

But, realistically, many guests are only in an Airbnb for a night or two. These guests may not even notice their symptoms while they’re still there. Even if they do notice the symptoms quickly, they may not know for sure that they came from that specific Airbnb. Many people go on road trips and stay at multiple locations over the course of a week or two.

In other words, it’s very easy for bed bugs to fly under the radar in an Airbnb, which means that the infestation may last longer than it has to. If you and your family have suffered harm as a result, be sure you understand what legal options you have. Contact Bed Bug Law today to set up a consultation.
